    im a friday to sunday person. im not that bothered which way i go via, but I’m planning to leave around lunchtime on friday as its a long drive up

    I have a quite heavy jacket thats probably the right size. its two layers – waterproof outer/fleece liner so utterly waterproof and very warm, but quite heavy and would be very bulky to pack into a sac . the fleece liner is removeable – it just zips out, which is handy on warm days. she’s welcome to borrow it if its useful.

    and so great that she was just a girl from a very ordinary background – she hadnt had any special privileges or opportunities, she wasnt hothoused in a sporty family from an early age. inspiring. and she was so obviously loving it all the time 🙂

    yeah I really dont fancy not leaving till after work then having a 6 hour drive (longer with a coffee break), sorry. its a bit easier for me to sacrifice the odd half day as I can do flexi .

    i spent some time dithering on favourites. I reckoned (based on number of times my jaw hit my knees)
    1) steep skiing (thats not a slope, thats a cliff)
    2) kayakking
    3) suprisingly I loved the running film on the nepali ultra running lass – I guess because her background was so different, and the actual running footage which I expected to be boring was in stunning mountain scenery
    4) the totem pole
    5)the salmon river
    6) the biking – just felt like a bit of an extended ‘red bull’ type thing really
