SpectatorHi everyone, here’s the attendees list so far. Looks like a go-er. To secure your place, please can you pay £40 to the club account and mark it “May [yourname]” so our marvellous treasurer can keep track?

SpectatorHope everyone had a great time this weekend, I certainly did.
I hear we made a really good impression with the FRCC which will stand us in good stead for using their huts in future. Thanks all of you for being friendly and considerate to the other users. Even the really reserved guy warmed to us in the end although that might have been cause we shared the curry with him! Some notes on group cooking for whoever organises the next trip:
We fed 11 in the group plus at least two other hut users.
There were 10 naan breads which was OK, and 1kg of rice which was maybe 1 big helping too much.
Online guidance suggested 150-200g of vegetable matter per person, which is miles off if you’re dealing with hungry mountaineers. We had about 4.5kg of veg (1.5kg sweet potatoes, 450g green beans, 400g baby corn, 1kg onions, 1kg aubergines) plus 2 tins of chopped toms and polished that off perfectly. That’s about 350-400g per person.Slow cookers worked fantastically and saved us from mobbing the kitchen while everyone else was trying to cook their tea. Thanks Dave C for bringing them and Matt for stirring the cauldrons during the day.
