ModeratorThe cut-off date for committing to the annual First Aid Course is fast approaching. Members who are not regularly kept up to date with first aid training are strongly recommended to maintain a basic proficiency and this course, at the discounted rate, is another big bonus of club membership.
The 16 hour course is enjoyable, not dependent on weather, practical and covers many aspects of first aid in the mountaineering environment including updates to personal equipment available, technology and advice on how to prevent or deal with a medical emergency. Some elements of the course which may help you save a life are simple and obvious but you may not have previously considered.
Last year we ran the course in December with 12 people and an instructor at Heslington, York for a cost of £75 each. We would like to do the same again.
Please, if you are interested in joining the course later this year, get in touch with Andrew either directly or via this forum. We need more numbers to express an interest by the end of this week or the course may not run.

ModeratorJust had confirmation of the date for an open, age graded lead and speed climbing competition at Harrogate Parthian Climbing Wall. It’s on this Saturday the 3rd of June. Email from Sam, centre manager, below.

Hello,
We will be hosting Parthian Project at Harrogate Parthian Climbing centre. The booking is now up but is not on our website just yet and what to give you guys first dibs on places. The cost is £24 per person for a full day comp we are organising food and drinks, obviously excellent music choice and fantastic prizes. It is a full day Lead Comp with Speed Competition as well. We are excited to have you on this day. This Comp is for everyone with a variety of grading and climbs. This is split into age categories.
If you need invoicing for multiple spaces, please contact me and I can create this for you.

ModeratorThursday evening climbing will be at Harrogate indoor wall. The evening temperature is likely to be too cold for comfort with the north easterly wind and the exposed crag. I’ll be at the wall for 5.
