Dan SWes H, Rose M, Claire A, and Sara S are planning to camp and will pay their own way at their chosen campsite. Camping is not allowed at the hut. The link to the nearest Glenbrittle campsite is https://www.dunvegancastle.com/glenbrittle/campsite/ . Note that the weather can be a tad inhospitable so an appropriate tent that can tolerate adverse (windy) conditions is highly recommended.
If anyone has to drop out please let me know as soon as possible so a reserve can be offered the place. The reserves for a place in the hut in order are:
Dan C
Ed H
David Cu
Beth C
Max P
Gavin M
Sara S
Alex DThe remaining balance of £44 for the trip is to be paid to the club account by the end of January 2025. There is likely to be a group communal meal on one of the evenings so an additional contribution of cash may be levied to cover the cost. I will post a reminder as well as more information nearer the time. Any questions? Please get in touch.
Cheers!

ModeratorI’ve booked accommodation for Friday and Saturday nights, the 15th to 17th November at the Idwal Cottage YHA. We have six beds available and at the moment there are five of us going. Me, Lee, Beth, Ewart and Max. All of us are intending to run on Saturday morning, however, we are also expecting to climb and walk in the local area on Friday and Sunday.
The sixth bed is up for grabs if anyone would like to join us, whether to run or not. The cost will be £30 if we use all six beds. Food, entertainment and ice-bath for the runners is yet to be organised but if you’re interested in coming along get in touch asap, it’s first come first served.
Cheers!

ModeratorI’m up for it. Bit of a jog round a hillside sounds wonderful. What could be easier?
I’m happy to drive down on Friday. Room for 3 more in the car. Flexible on timing. Probably have a walk or scramble on Sunday before heading for home.
Cheers!

ModeratorThe Borrowdale trip is fast approaching. 24 out of the 26 beds available in the hut have been taken and one extra will be camping at the nearby campsite. It’s going to be a busy and sociable weekend! If anyone would like either of the two places still up for grabs please let me know as soon as possible. The trip is open to all members.
Next week I will create a WhatsApp group for the weekend and post more information there. Bear in mind that there is no mobile signal or wifi at the hut so it would be wise to save useful facts such as the door entry code onto your phone before arriving at the hut. The WhatsApp group will be the best place for people to fine-tune lifts and organise their plans. Please can everyone have a plan of some sort, with someone, with realistic and safe objectives already arranged before turning up at the hut so don’t expect me to find you a partner as we’re stepping out of the door on Saturday morning.
I intend to be in Borrowdale for lunchtime on Friday and can climb or walk on Friday afternoon. I have space in my car for up to two more if anyone would like a lift. On Saturday I’m planning to walk up to Skafell Pike via the Corridor Route and I’m happy for anyone to join me. There will be a meal provided on Saturday evening. On Sunday after we have cleaned and vacated the hut I expect to have another local walk or climb and will drive home in the afternoon.
Please get in touch if you would like more information.
Cheers!
