I’m up for it. Bit of a jog round a hillside sounds wonderful. What could be easier?
I’m happy to drive down on Friday. Room for 3 more in the car. Flexible on timing. Probably have a walk or scramble on Sunday before heading for home.
Cheers!
Dave MModeratorThe Borrowdale trip is fast approaching. 24 out of the 26 beds available in the hut have been taken and one extra will be camping at the nearby campsite. It’s going to be a busy and sociable weekend! If anyone would like either of the two places still up for grabs please let me know as soon as possible. The trip is open to all members.
Next week I will create a WhatsApp group for the weekend and post more information there. Bear in mind that there is no mobile signal or wifi at the hut so it would be wise to save useful facts such as the door entry code onto your phone before arriving at the hut. The WhatsApp group will be the best place for people to fine-tune lifts and organise their plans. Please can everyone have a plan of some sort, with someone, with realistic and safe objectives already arranged before turning up at the hut so don’t expect me to find you a partner as we’re stepping out of the door on Saturday morning.
I intend to be in Borrowdale for lunchtime on Friday and can climb or walk on Friday afternoon. I have space in my car for up to two more if anyone would like a lift. On Saturday I’m planning to walk up to Skafell Pike via the Corridor Route and I’m happy for anyone to join me. There will be a meal provided on Saturday evening. On Sunday after we have cleaned and vacated the hut I expect to have another local walk or climb and will drive home in the afternoon.
Please get in touch if you would like more information.
Cheers!

Dave MModeratorI’ll be heading to Harrogate Wall today and will arrive before 5pm. I doubt that the slow improvement in the weather will arrive in time for outdoor climbing. However, I applaud Charley’s optimism!
This evening is a great opportunity for new club members to meet the club or for anyone wanting to refresh skills before the summer, outdoor season. Please get in touch if you want to know more.
Cheers!

Dave MModeratorHi Oli, Sorry for slow response. Timing is everything when pushing the envelope with domestic planning. Thanks for organising the trip. Can you put me down for a bunk please?
I’ll be in Langdale all week and will walk up to the hut on Friday. A lift home to Easingwold on Sunday with anyone would be very much appreciated. I will only have minimal gear so I’m happy to go out walking on Saturday/Sunday with maybe an easy scramble. But I’ll try to have my rock shoes, helmet and harness just in case.
Cheers!
