See you at Scuggy. Tom and I will be there by 4pm. And the pub after.

Dave MModeratorHi Paul, we’ll keep an eye out for you. At Almscliff we often start at Low Man
Dave MModeratorJust a bit more info for those planning on joining in at Coniston this weekend.
The weather forecast remains good for Friday and Saturday but there is a probable deterioration on Sunday though possibly OK for climbing in the morning.
The A66 has a 40mph contraflow section to the west of Barnard Castle. Today the traffic was flowing without any problems. Car parking at Walna Scar car park is pay and display but the pay machine was not working today. The RINGO App is in use as an alternative at this car park and works well. Best to download it before you get there to save time. Cost for parking is £9 for a full day or £4.80 for 4 hours.
Walk in to the crag from Walna Scar is almost exactly 2 miles and takes about an hour. Good path, mostly level and straight forward navigation. Walk in from the campsite will be at least an hour more.
The Coniston Hall Campsite is easy to find and the owner has no doubt that the weekend will not see them reach capacity. John J and I will get there at about lunchtime and send a message on WhatsApp to describe where we are pitched in our tents. We will climb at Dow in the afternoon and return in the evening. We expect to make an early start on Saturday morning to take advantage of the weather and be ahead of the traffic up to Walna Scar car park.
If anyone is interested in coming along please let me know by Friday morning so I can make sure we secure a suitable area to congregate all tents and vans.
Cheers all, Dave M
Dave MModeratorI’ll be there tomorrow at about 6pm. May go for a swift visit to the Kestrel on the way home. Early start Friday to get to Coniston for lunchtime.
Dave MModeratorBe good to see you John. I’ll be at the car park by about 9.30. My other half has been engaged elsewhere with an ill relative so I’m now on my own today. Looks like it should be a great day for climbing.
