The lakes weekend is going ahead. Myself, Jenny, Nathan, Charley and Dan have names down so far. The bunkhouse at Gillside Farm, Glenridding (postcode CA11 0QQ) is booked and we have the larger 12 bunk room. The other 7 man room is being used by another group. Cost is £15 per person per night.
The weather forecast so far is reasonable although not conclusive and may prove to be good enough for climbing on both days but taking gear for scrambling and walking too.
Facilities at the bunkhouse include gas stove, wash up area, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle but no pots, pans, crockery or cutlery. Toilet block for the campsite has showers too and cost 20p. The Travellers Rest pub is a 5 minute walk down the road and it is recommended for food and beer. Glenridding has shops and other places to eat and drink.
The bunkhouse has to be vacated by 10:30 on Sunday morning but cars can be left at the campsite until later in the day if required.
If anyone else would like to come along for all or any part of the weekend please get in touch. At the moment there is room in the bunkhouse for 7 more on Friday and Saturday night. I’ll be at the AGM tonight if anyone wants to discuss further.
Cheers, Dave M
Dave MModeratorHarrogate Wall this evening. I aim to be there for 6. Nick can’t make the wall so he’s bringing the new club tee shirts to me this afternoon. I’ll have them all at the wall so if you’ve bought one you can pick it up tonight. Cheers all, see you there. Dave M
Dave MModeratorI’d like to add my name to the list too. Thanks.

Dave MModeratorThe non-climbing plan at the moment is to start walking at about 6pm near to the crag in Scugdale. Adam is leaving Fulford area at 4:30ish pm and calling at mine in Easingwold before I drive up to Scugdale. If anyone else would like to join in and requires a lift please let me know and I will help to coordinate.
After walking we aim to meet up at about 9pm in the Black Horse, Swainby.
Cheers, Dave M
Dave MModeratorThe weather forecast is shaping up for a wet day on Thursday. Harrogate Wall is the climbing venue for the evening. Post-climb social venue is the Knavesmire. See you there!
