    A beginners guide to kit and courses on winter mountaineering.

    Just passing on some information recently received. I’ve attached a link to Rab UK which has a lot of helpful advice for aspiring Scottish winter mountaineers. It gives a good idea about the kit and knowledge required for a safe and comfortable trip to the winter hills. Of course other brands are available when it comes to purchasing kit or training courses.

    Any interest in a Rock City venture prior to the Christmas party? An alternative to the early evening goat session this is in comparison a full expedition. Aim is to leave York at 9, climb at Rock City, Hull until maybe 3pm then head back to reconvene at the Knavesmire and abandon wheels. A pleasant stroll up Bishopthorpe Road and Piccadilly to Walmsgate (via various drinking establishments) will get us to Brew York at about the right time.

    I’ll drive and have 3 seats available. Anyone interested, please let me know here or on whatsapp.
