We are off to Glencoe this weekend. Paul, moi, Steve M, Dolly, and Brian H are booked in Glencoe Youth Hostel Friday and Saturday nights. We have a 6-person private room booked, so if there is any late entrant for what promises to be a gorgeous weather forecast, do shout up.
As mentioned earlier, Paul is closing in on finishing his Munros, so it seems very likely we will aim for Beinn Sguliard and Gulvain.

“Orrible just now in York, innit ?
Although there is excellent weather in Scotland.
The forecasts predict a nice big area of high pressure centred over the north of the UK by the end of the week…… and we’ll be hoping it’s positioned so that we don’t get fronts bumping over the top of it and onto the West Highlands.
As my mother-in-law will be moving from hospital into a nursing home this week, it looks like I’ll be in Chorley on Friday so a rendezvous will be at Penrith

So the forecast for tomorrow (as issued about an hour ago at 8.11 am) is little or no rain, low wind, excellent visibility, maybe a bit of cloud on summits from time to time. I am leaving York before 6.30 with Angela, Caroline and Penny to meet Steve G and Orrin at Honister, possibly Steve M also. Tenk, Kelly & dog will come up via a Wainwright summit or two and we’ll try to meet up before 11

Well, mes enfants, Paul, Marjan and myself got a couple of cracking days at the end of October with Angel’s Peak NE Ridge and I’m hoping for another weekend this autumn. The weekend coming is not going to be the one, however, judging by todays MWIS outlook for Saturday, and the following weekend sees the closure of the M74 past Glasgow from Friday to Sunday, so there will be massive travel delays. Plus I think I’ll have a family commitment.
So I’m concentrating hopes on the weekend of 26th-27th November. If at all possible, we’ll go to the west for Beinn Sguliard and Gulvain but if the west is poor we’ll hope to enjoy some white stuff wherever we can
