So unless the forecast changes, we are looking to the east side of the Dales, so as to be in the lee of the Pennine watershed and least affected by low cloud from the west.
Calver Hill in Swaledale is described as “A superb high level walk above Arkengarthdale following Fremington Edge before crossing the valley for a return to Reeth via Calver Hill.” and at 10 miles and 2000 ft ascent this may well fit the bill.
It is only 487 m elevation, so it ought to be clear of low cloud and not so windy as the higher tops. Anyway it’ll be an interesting change from Ribblesdale or Buckden Pike etc.
