With the popularity of vans amongst many Members, and even for those of us who just wriggle into a wee tent, it may be useful to take note that roadside sleeping has been BANNED in an area roughly Callander-Killin-Tyndrum-Loch Lomond and roads to the west thereof.
See https://www.mountaineering.scot/campaigns/safeguarding-access/loch-lomond-camping
This does not affect the right to go wild camping in the hills, but pulling over into a lay by to sleep in this area is potentially illegal now.

This has been widely debated on-line, Cameron McNeish has been particularly vocal. Its aimed at the unsocial low life’s of the central belt, we are all suffering. The National Park Authority and local councils are also trying to drive business to camp sites (a secondary point). Its OK in other areas.
