This week it looks like unpredictable weather is with us again. Tuesday evening will be a Red Goat session for me with pizza to compensate for my efforts. I’ll be there at about 5.
Thursday’s venue for outdoor climbing is Almscliff. Showers are possible so Harrogate Wall is the backup plan. I’m not around on Thursday or at the weekend due to this year’s festival and liver-pickling season getting under way.
The first Sunday is the following weekend on the 2nd of July. The long-range weather forecast at the moment looks promising. I’m aiming to have a club meet at the Wainstones. Consider it an informal picnic day out where everyone can meet and perhaps enjoy a local short walk, have a go at climbing or abseiling and meet other club members. Well-behaved family, friends and pets are included and can participate in any activity whether it’s strenuous or just drinking lashings of lemonade and eating cake. Please can you let me know if you are interested in coming and also if you have spare gear to loan and are willing to help with inexperienced members. When I have some idea of who’s coming I’ll post more information on car sharing and venue.
The first Thursday on the 6th of July will be pub night at the Knavesmire. Some members have recently inquired about planning for back-packing and what equipment to carry in a rucksack. Steve Green has kindly offered to bring some gear along and show the sort of stuff he carries and offer advice to prospective multi-day mountaineers. Please feel free to come along and enjoy an informative, social evening.
Cheers!
