Tuesday session at the Goat will start at about 5pm. I’ll be there and will bring a few maps and guide books for Skye. Probably have a pizza after climbing.
Thursday will be aiming for club climbing outdoors at Almscliff. It should be dry but may be cool so wrap up warm. I expect to be there by 5 but could maybe start a bit earlier. I’ll post on WhatsApp to update any plans.
The weekend is looking like the temperature is picking up but may be wet in some areas. The Thirlmere trip is fully booked so fingers crossed for good conditions in Cumbria.
The Skye trip in May is fully subscribed. Spaces are still available on the Wasdale trip in June and the Raven Crag, Langdale trip in July. Both venues are easy to get to and are perfect for all activities at every level. All club members are invited to join so feel free to contact the organiser and book your place. Information about all trips is on the forum.
Further ahead, we are beginning to make plans for the annual first aid course. It’s a 2 day, 16 hour Rescue and Emergency Care course for up to 12 people and normally held over a weekend in the early winter months. We initially charge £100 to join the course and can refund any surplus once the course fills up. Last year the course cost less than £75 per head. We would like a voulunteer to help to organise the course. Please let me know if you are interested in attending the course and even more so if you’d like to be the one in charge.
Next Thursday, the 1st of May, will be pub night at the Fox. I’ll be happy to talk to anyone interested in joining trips, planning events or helping out with the first aid course.
