Hi all. I’m back into normal routine for a few days and thoroughly enjoying the weather.
This week it’ll be an evening session at the Red Goat on Tuesday starting at 5pm and I’ll be staying for a pizza after climbing. There will be a club committee meeting on Wednesday so feel free to pester me if there’s anything you would like us to consider for the agenda.
Thursday will be club climbing at Harrogate Wall. I expect to be there by 5pm but will leave at about 7 to be at the Fox at 8. It’s the first Thursday of the month so we’ll be in the pub for chat, banter and planning for upcoming trips. Over recent months there’s been a strong turnout so there’s no shortage of useful info and news.
The weekend has no club activities planned at the moment.
On Monday 7th I’m going up to Scotland with Dolly to aim for 4 Munros. Accommodation will be bothy and hostel and will return on Friday. I have space for one in the car if anyone’s at a loose end and wants to join us. Let me know at the Goat or on Thursday at the latest.
The dates for the winter weekend are the 15th to 17th of March 2025. The venue is AMMH at Ballachulish. I have a few already interested but the numbers are limited to 16 in the hut. When the trip is open for booking and if there is a response like last year I will probably book another weekend in Aviemore. Again, it’s a subject for discussion at a club night.
Club tee shirts are available to order. Please get your bid in with Nathan asap so we can submit the order and have the shirts printed and delivered. We are using a local provider and would like to foster a good relationship for a long-term arrangement so your support would be appreciated.
Finally. The committee continue to work away in the background to keep things running. In addition we are grateful to other club members who volunteer their time to organise other events and activities. At the AGM on November 21st the club membership will vote to renew the committee and chair. The committee can be modified and we would be very pleased to hear from anyone who is interested in taking a role with the committee or helping otherwise whether now or in the future.
Cheers!
Dave M
