Thursday’s Club climbing will be at Harrogate indoor wall. I’m aiming to be there for about 5 for a very easy session probably involving more talking than climbing. Cricketers pub afterwards.
Some climbing at the weekend on Sunday the 16th is already being advertised on WhatsApp so please get in touch with Gav if you are interested.
The sunset times are moving back. This week at Harrogate on Thursday it’s at 8.05pm, next week at 8.18 and 8.31 on the 27th of April. The weather forecast at the moment is good for all of next week so a trip to Almscliff for Club climbing is on the cards for next Thursday. Hopefully outside again the week after.
Newcomers of any level are welcome to any of our climbing evenings, walkers too for a short walk or navigation practice. The usual plan after climbing outside is to call in at a local pub near to the crag for a quick catch up on the gossip before heading for home.
The amount and variety of Club activity currently taking place is very encouraging and many new members are getting involved. It’s quite acceptable for novices to come and have a go at climbing although it’s best if your climbing partners appreciate your status and are aware of what equipment you may or may not possess. If you are unsure of anything, please, don’t hesitate to ask.
The Red Goat is still popular on Tuesday evenings. It’s a good, central venue for a strong core of Club Members and we’ll aim to maintain our support there. The new bouldering wall, Freeklime at Clifton Moor is, by all accounts, a worthwhile venue although it doesn’t do pizza. I’ll probably have a look there in the near future to see for myself.
Cheers!
