The Lakes Weatherline is predicting a bright and cold day for Sunday. With a decorative coat of white on the summits, that might be rather picturesque.
On a number of previous occasions, a group of us has attended the Remembrance gathering and 2 minutes’ silence on Great Gable.
This is of course organised by the FRCC (who purchased the mountain after WW1 as a war memorial). There’s a big crowd at 10.55, but it soon disperses !!
An early start is needed to get to the top on time: who’s for Remembrance this year ?

So the forecast for tomorrow (as issued about an hour ago at 8.11 am) is little or no rain, low wind, excellent visibility, maybe a bit of cloud on summits from time to time. I am leaving York before 6.30 with Angela, Caroline and Penny to meet Steve G and Orrin at Honister, possibly Steve M also. Tenk, Kelly & dog will come up via a Wainwright summit or two and we’ll try to meet up before 11
