I have this morning received the email below about a SkiMo event in Iran from May 11th to 17th.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Iran Seven Summit SkiMo Club with collaboration of Atour Adventure and with the support of ISMF has established an event of Ski Mountaineering and Sky Running in Damavand (5610m) that follows all the criteria and standards of ISMF. The event includes a competition as well for those who want to compare their mastery of Ski Mountaineering with others. However, the event also suites the skiers who are not interested in competing. Just like other tournaments of such nature, it has two sections of Sprint and Vertical race held on two separate dates. In addition, there is the Sky Running contest for those who are interested in climbing the highest volcano of Asia and the highest mountain of Iran. Although a relatively new sport, Sky Running has become widespread in Iran and has a lot of fans; that is why the organizers of SkiMo Damavand added this category to the contest. Taking part in the competition is not a must and participants can enjoy Damavand without competing.

The event is in 7 days from May 11th to 17th, 2019. First the Sky Running race is held followed by Vertical and then Sprint competitions. After that, Damavand is summited by participants and with a cultural sightseeing of Golestan Palace and Tehran Grand Bazar, the event comes to an end.

We would like to provide a chance for mountain skiers and sky runners to challenge themselves and at the same time get familiar with the culture and nature of a country that surprises every visitor, to encourage more people to participate in this annual event the organizers have decided to hold the event without any age and ranking restrictions for participants.
