Giovanni and I are planning a day out on Saturday prefer to do distance and or scrambling rather than climbing. Sorry Tenko otherwise we’d have joined you 🙂

Has anyone heard of or done the Beacon Bank Challenge? It starts in Easingwold and around the Howardian Hills villages, approx. 25 miles. Just wanting to check its a challenging route and also if anyone would like to join us just contact me and we can make arrangement.

See some of you tonight. Dave Carrier, when are you next joining the club?? You’ve been AWOL for long enough.

Yesterday the language around (remains of) Hurricane Gert altered subtly between the teatime weather and late night version — looks now as though it will arrive late on Sunday instead of making the whole day a wash-out. This morning’s MWIS said ” A transient ridge of high pressure will bring improved conditions later Saturday and into Sunday across all areas.”
I continue to harbour my hopes.

I am packing this eve to drive down tomorrow to south west wales for a week sea cliff climbing in pembroke. so I am going to try to whizz in a very quick couple of hours straight after work at the red goat, then go home and pack. I will be there from about 4.30 to 6.30

I’m just waiting to hear from Ang as to our plans and where we are going so don’t think I’ll be at the Red Goat this evening. enjoy Wales and the sea cliffs.

Latest MWIS forecast suggests E Highlands could be OK for hillwalking or scrambling, albeit windy on Saturday, and probably not dry enough for climbing. I think I’ll give Scotland a miss, and hopefully climb closer to home on Saturday. Peak could be good, but let’s see how the forecast develops, and talk more in the pub tonight.
