Hi all, we have received the request below from Mike at the BMC regarding Ravenswick Quarry. Might be if interest to some of you.

Hello, Mike Conlon here, I am the BMC North East Area, Access and Conservation Volunteer. An enquiry has been received from a Scarbrough based activist, about bolting Ravenswick Quarry. We are gauging local opinion before considering how to respond. I would be grateful if you would canvass your membership or at least let them know. Ther is a post on UKC on which they could respond. If it is not showing, typing “Ravenswick Quarry” in the search function should bring it up
    Thanks and regards, Mike.

The UKC post can be found here:

    Many thanks Nathan

    Hi Nathan

    I’ll respond on ukc.
Reckon it’s a good idea. Would be short routes but some decent 5-6s. Used to be my regular haunt.
Bit of heat on ukc about protecting the lines as solos, never understood this, as if bolted you can still solo or trad anyway. There are some in situ bolts there already which need replacing.

    Neil
