I have been asked by Ewart if it would be possible to promote the idea of a coordinated club entry into this year’s Penmaenmawr Fell Race. I think it’s a very good idea. It looks like a fun 16.1Km race with a bottle of beer (or soup) for finishers and last year the event raised £700 for the Wales Air Ambulance.

Penmaenmawr is on the north Wales coast between Conwy and Bangor. There is a link to the race website on the Events Page. If anyone is interested please get in touch with Ewart.

    Cheers!

Hi All, As an update and in a bid to, hopefully, widen the appeal of this trip we are looking to book accommodation at either the local YHA or bunkhouses within the Ogwen Valley from which you’ll be able to access any form of mountain activity, not just fell running, and even cafe and climbing shop stops. Plas y Brennin have their own indoor wall, and if its a complete washout the cambrian wall ( https://www.beaconclimbing.com/) in Caernarfon has great facilities, perfect if you forget your oudoor kit… and lets not forget the entire Eryri range for mountaineering offering, arguably, some of the best climbing and one or two scrambles in the uk! So if you do fancy this trip please do let us know asap so we can secure the accommodation, I hope you can join 🙂

I’m up for it. Bit of a jog round a hillside sounds wonderful. What could be easier?

I’m happy to drive down on Friday. Room for 3 more in the car. Flexible on timing. Probably have a walk or scramble on Sunday before heading for home.

    Cheers!

I’ve booked accommodation for Friday and Saturday nights, the 15th to 17th November at the Idwal Cottage YHA. We have six beds available and at the moment there are five of us going. Me, Lee, Beth, Ewart and Max. All of us are intending to run on Saturday morning, however, we are also expecting to climb and walk in the local area on Friday and Sunday.

The sixth bed is up for grabs if anyone would like to join us, whether to run or not. The cost will be £30 if we use all six beds. Food, entertainment and ice-bath for the runners is yet to be organised but if you’re interested in coming along get in touch asap, it’s first come first served.

    Cheers!
