Hey Carwyn
Thanks for sorting this out for us all!
1. I’m unavailable 28th October but all the other dates should be fine
2. I’m not signed off as competent unfortunately!
3. I have done a lot of indoor climbing but would be interested in progressing to the more technical stuff (ropes etc) if that’s an option!Cheers.

October 12, 2023 at 11:07 am #17515Carwyn EdwardsSpectatorHi all
Just an update on this: we’ve had a lot of interest in the lock-in, which is great.
From the availability that people have given me, it looks like either the 11th or 12th November is the best date: I’m just double-checking with Parthian and will confirm asap.
We’ve got around 20 people interested so far, which is awesome but pretty close to the minimum that Parthian need to make the session work so if anyone else is interested please let me know!
I’ll post payment details once I’ve heard back from Parthian on dates.
Cheeeeers
October 12, 2023 at 2:30 pm #17520Carwyn EdwardsSpectatorOK, so just had confirmation from Sam at Parthian:
The lock-in is going to be *Sunday November the 12th from 6pm-9pm*.
The cost for climbing and coaching is going to be *£10 per person.*
In order to confirm your place, please send £10 to the club bank account with the reference: your initial, surname and Parth (my example would be cedwardsParth).
If you need the bank details, please see the Whatsapp or give me a shout. We will need a minimum of 20 people to make the event work so please send your payment *ASAP* so we can confirm the booking with Parthian. Once we have a better idea of numbers I’ll confirm the coaching set up with Sam.
On the food front, there doesn’t seem to be a great choice of places close to Parthian that will still be serving food after 9pm: I think getting some pizza delivered during the session might be the best bet, details TBC closer to the time!
October 31, 2023 at 12:54 pm #17655Carwyn EdwardsSpectatorHi all
Just a reminder that this is happening and plenty of spaces still available to join.
There will be coaching on technique & footwork and better belaying for lead climbing. Hopefully we will have one of the instructors from Parthian available to help people new to roped climbing/those who aren’t signed off at Harrogate wall yet as well.
November 6, 2023 at 3:44 pm #17743Martin PicklesSpectatorHi
I’m a new member of YMC, as of yesterday.
I’m very interested in the Parthian lock in (Sunday 12th Nov). Are there still places available?
In answer to the relevant questions, I’m not signed off as a ‘competent climber’ at Parthian, but I am at other walls. Definately interested in masterclasses. Love pizza!
If there is a place available can someone send me the YMC bank account details for the £10 transfer as I don’t have these details yet.
Hopefully, I see some of you on Sunday.
Cheers,
Martin.
