I think the archaic spelling “Compleation” used by the SMC et al., might be derived from Izaak Walton “The Compleat Angler”.
Be that as it may, our Steve proposes to Compleat his list, (although I trust not his last Munro ever) next October. So this is a “Save the Date” type notification.
The mountain will be Meall Nan Taramachan 1043 metres. OS 51 (Which is near Killin so not overly far away for a weekend). The plan is to meet at the Ben Lawers visitors Centre car park to start the walk at 10.00.
The visitors centre is no longer, but signing from the A827 Killin to Aberfeldy road is clear and sat nav directions are good.
The car park is at 450 meters so does give you a good lift before the walk, the path is well maintained and a good surface the distance to the top is only 3.5 km and 600 metres but is steep and the views are amazing.
There are extensions to the walk for those who want more of a challenge (VIZ the slightly scrambly Taramachan Ridge) and depending on the weather, Beverley and Steve will also be in the camper which will have a tea coffee and cake service.
After the adventures of the day we have arranged a get together at the Falls of Dochart public house 7pm onwards, we have arranged to use their coffee shop area which is connected to the pub so don’t worry beer will be available and there is very good pub food, which Steve and Beverley dutifully checked out when they visited recently.
The Landlady Tina will let Beverley have a copy of the menu nearer the time if people want to order before, there is a good range of local food and as usual all dietary requirements covered. The coffee shop and bar areas are dog friendly so Orin will be on duty to meet and greet.
If you are available to make it please let Steve or Beverley know so they can give Tina approximate numbers.
There is a good variety of accommodation available in Killin hotels pubs cottages B&B Airbnb. Steve & Beverley will be staying on the Caravan and Motorhome club site which is in the village.

(for and on behalf of S. Green)August 24, 2019 at 8:45 pm #13043AndrewSpectatorIf anyone else would like to join Steve Green’s Munro “Compleation” and party in Killin on Saturday 5th October, here is an opportunity for accommodation which would be good to grasp. His Compleation will be on Meal nan Taramachan, which (as prudent Munroists do) is an easy choice of mountain in case of poor weather — but it also has a somewhat scrambly ridge running west from the summit which provides a nice excursion when it is fine.
Killin has no campsite and no “budget” hostel, so it is a very difficult place for beds unless you have a camper van. Six of us have booked a cottage at Kinnel Farm which is {reputedly} just a half mile stagger from the pub. The lady has just told me that the second – smaller- cottage has become available (because a long let tenant has moved out). The smaller cottage has 1 x king size double, I single bedroom, and i single bed on the landing. (=3 beds) and so it will sleep up to 4 people.
The cost would be £60 per night for the whole cottage — very user-friendly !!
So if any three or 4 folks not already booked, fancy a hillgoing weekend and a celebration of 281 other summits, you can get together and ring Kay on 07773 197974
