I am organising a walking and climbing trip to the Lake District from 22 – 24 MARCH. The Smithy hut on Thirlmere is booked. It is owned by the Gritstone club and has 2 bathrooms with showers and a well equipped kitchen. It is cosy but it has lounge (with a wood burner) that is separate to the main bunk room which sleeps 9. It does have heating too.
The cost will be £25 for the weekend.
Food wise, I suggest the pub or bring something easy you can cook at the hut for the Friday night. For the Saturday, perhaps we can share out the cooking since there will be a relatively small number. Do a couple of people fancy making a vegetarian chilli or other pot dish? Someone can bring the rice, someone the nachos, someone the cheese, a couple of people the pudding etc etc. We can sort it out nearer the time.
