Hi all,
Loughborough Students Union has reached out to the club via Instagram with this Kilimanjaro trip that they are hosted for charity. Please see the mail below from Beth from LSU.
Of course I expect most of you to be at the AGM on Thursday but feel free to get in touch with Beth if you want further details etc.
‘Good Afternoon,
I’m Beth, one of the team leaders for this year’s Kilimanjaro trip just following up with some information about the trip (I’ve also cc’d the other team leaders for this trip)! If you want any more information, we have a zoom information evening coming up on Thursday where anyone interested can attend and will also receive a £100 discount on signing up (valid for 48 hours; https://fb.me/e/1FoynbVwG).
The trek itself is 6 days along the Machame route, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful on Kilimanjaro as you can see the summit on every day of your climb. Together with the support of your crew you will pass through 4 ecological zones from the rainforest to the incredible glacial zone at the top.
The trip dates will be between late August- September 2021, exact dates to be confirmed by the 13th December once the whole team has registered! To sign up you need to pay a registration fee of £395 which is split into two instalments of £195 and £200. However, the second instalment can be reduced to £0 by attending the information evening and by referring friends to the trip! As Dig Deep did this year they offer full assurance that anyone who registers for a 2021 challenge can defer to 2022 for any reason with no charge if this is requested before the final fundraising deadline.
The fundraising target is £2,600 which is split equally between the charitable donation to support Dig Deep’s projects and your climb costs. To support you with your fundraising there is a dedicated fundraising support officer from Dig Deep as well as us, the trained team leaders! Over the year we will work out a fundraising plan unique to you as well as providing team fundraising opportunities!
It would be great to spread the word about this amazing opportunity to the mountaineering club. We’d love to have as many people as possible involved! Any questions feel free to ask, if anyone is interested the information evening is a great way to get more information or they can message us directly on Instagram (@lboro_teamkili2021).
Many Thanks,
Beth’ -
