    Suppose you need to call for help in an area with a poor mobile signal ?Maybe a text message will get through when a voice call to 999 will not.
    Steve Green recently picked up a Rescue Team leaflet recommending http://www.emergencysms.org.uk
    In brief, you register your phone (free) by texting “register” to 999. Once registered you can send text messages to 999 in an emergency.
    Takes 2 mins to do. Why not ?
