Hi folks
I am currently looking into organising a trip to El Chorro in Malaga, Spain. This is one of the oldest sport climbing areas in Spain and the southern weather allows for quality limestone climbing even later in the year. Detailed info below:

I am delighted to announce that the accommodation got back to us this week.
They have rooms in ‘The Bunkhouse’ with several beds [ https://www.olivebranchelchorro.com/bunkhouse/ ]. I have currently inquired about a booking for 8 people however (if this gets popular) we could potentially get in touch and attempt to arrange space for up to 14.The price we have been given is:
♦ €22 (£19) per person per night without breakfast ~ total sum of £95
♦ €27 (£23) per person per night breakfast included ~ total sum of £115There is mention to a 10% discount if we book 10 people in or more.
As of today, there is a flight from Bradford to Malaga departing 08.15 on the 2nd of November for £52 (+ extras). This seems ideal as it drops us in Malaga at mid day and gives us time to sort out the car hire, do a food shop run, and figure out what we are climbing/walking/doing the rest of the days.
The return is a bit awkward as there are no flights to Bradford from Malaga on the 7th of November. There is option to fly to Manchester (Easyjet £170) or London Gatwick (£34 + commute), possibly other options too as Malaga is a busy airport. We would need a car hire to go from the airport to the accommodation with equipment and potentially to do a run to the shops in Malaga or the closest village (and maybe go to the beach if we need a chill day). Works out around €70 per day and would need 2 cars – makes it around €90 per person for the trip.
A consideration about insurance, after a chat with Dave, I would expect all attendants to have individual rock climbing insurance. A quick quote from BMC returns £42 for the trip.
Altogether a ballpark cost figure could be circa £450 + expenses and souvenirs.
On this post, I am looking for commitment. Are you happy with the above and free those days? Would you prefer breakfast included or your own Spanish cereal?
I will start collecting monies next week based on which is the most popular option (brekkie or no brekkie).
I’m excited!
Cheers

– how much to pay and by when
– will you be booking flight and car hire too, in which case you’ll need most of the money upfront
– is there any merit getting a price from a travel agent booking 8-10 people and any extra for refunds if anyone has to cancel last minute on the flights
– Manchester seem most suitable for return but do they offer a inbound too?
– worth considering car share and car parking at the airport especially Manchester
Regards
