The plan emerged to go for a walk + fun scramble up Penyghent in the Dales on Saturday. The walk I have in mind includes Plover Hill and Hull Pot https://bowlandclimber.com/2015/10/26/pen-y-ghent-and-plover-hill/
and is about 10 miles give or take (4 hours or so?), but a shorter version of 6 miles is also possible.
Forecast is alright (but will keep an eye on it): “Winds now backed south or southeast bringing dry and occasionally bright conditions. Freezing level above all peaks.” https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/specialist-forecasts/mountain/yorkshire-dales#?date=outlook-tab
As advised by Andrew: The summit areas can be damp, so waterproof boots advised.
My plan A is to take the train from York at 8:44am to Horton-in-Ribblesdale to arrive at 10:31am (£32 return), so should be able to be back at the pub when it’s still bright!
Any takers?
