The summer holiday weather continues to make it difficult to plan ahead with any certainty for outdoor activities. On Tuesday from 5pm onwards there will be the weekly trip to the Red Goat although I can’t make it again. On Wednesday morning I will be visiting Freeklime for a quick session and to meet the manager to discuss possible discount for our members. If anyone’s around it would be good to see you.
Thursday evening climbing venue will be Almscliff. I can make it for a mid-afternoon start if anyone else is available although I will have to leave early due to an early start on Friday morning for my final cultural, music, beer and pizza festival of the season.
The bank holiday weekend is looking like a mixed forecast. Please post ideas here or on WhatsApp if there is any appetite for climbing or walking.
The following weekend will include the first Sunday of the month. Over recent months there has been a huge amount of club activity but I have noted that members who have expressed more interest in walking rather than climbing have been relatively remote and less inclined to show up to outdoor activities. It would be great to see more of our members getting involved and to get to know each other better. I will monitor the weather forecast and aim to plan a local-ish 10 – 12 mile walk for Sunday the 3rd September. Please let me know via direct message or here if you are interested and would be willing to join in and to offer lifts if needed.
Cheers!
