The only certainty on the pub front is that me and Loch (and presumably Dave will look at the Knavesmire, at least this evening to see if Andy’s rather lukewarm summary of its offerings is indeed a broader consensus of opinion. My personal view of the Winning Post is that it tries to emulate the Ainsty in terms of its ambience and its approach to customer service excellence, but is possibly even worse. The Swan is a cracking boozer but I suspect would be even more rammed than the Fox on a Thursday night, and we would simply end up moving to the same noise / crowding issue but in a different venue. Having said all that, I wish to state categorically that as I live next door to the Knavesmire, I should am forced to declare a conflict of interests, and state that my views should be disregarded in terms of voting, to preclude any risk of legal challenge.
