    Hi
    Anyone got any thoughts on where to climb on Thurs? The midges were bad at Brimham last week :-(. Slipstones or Scugdale for a change?

    Hello!

    Yes, the midges were terrible at Brimham. I would not be surprised if I have 200 bright red bites, but I’m not going to try counting!

    I’ve looked up Slipstones (a Google Maps search for Birk Gill Wood works) and it’s 56 miles from work and another 42 home… a lot for a thursday evening! Scugdale is 63+41… ouch.

    I ought to suggest somewhere closer (rather than just moaning about existing suggestions) but I don’t really know the places…

    The midges could be a serious consideration.
    I am in Leeds during the day tomorrow, so from a purely personal point of view, a West Yorks venue would be best. I wouldn’t mind Almscliff. Loch thinks we go there too much, albeit I’ve only been about 3 times this year.

    Yes I could get behind a trip to Almscliff – definitely more convenient.

    There’s plenty that I’ve hardly touched round the back (high man?) – top-roping some of the harder stuff up there is an option…

    I can do the polished bastion of grit that is Almscliff.
