Hi joe…We will be climbing trad, not on bolted rock. I roso it doesn’t use numeric grades, but to be honest if you’re seconding 4s and haven’t started leading yet or been on outside rock it doesn’t sound like the ideal session for you….it’s very different to seconding bolted routes indoors and to be honest Ouse probably be better getting somebody who’s a qualified instructor like Andy to do a few introductory sessions with you first. You’ll love it once you get into it, but there is quite a lot to take on board.
Thats 4c uk tech outdoors on grit, mostly on a toprope.
Sorry i wasn’t clear, I’ve climbed VS routes on a top rope and am ready to go higher, never lead a trad route. Indoors I have led up to F6a.
Hi Joe. Just seen your follow up post, hope you’ve got my email. If you’re only used to top roping, you’d probably be best doing a few sessions with one of the cthe club SPAs first who will have time to go through the basics with you and make sure you’re safe and up to speed – sorry but I don’t feel qualified to do this. I’m sure me of the people you spoke to when you came down to the pub will be happy to do a session or two with you to get you up to speed :-).
