i spent some time dithering on favourites. I reckoned (based on number of times my jaw hit my knees)
    1) steep skiing (thats not a slope, thats a cliff)
    2) kayakking
    3) suprisingly I loved the running film on the nepali ultra running lass – I guess because her background was so different, and the actual running footage which I expected to be boring was in stunning mountain scenery
    4) the totem pole
    5)the salmon river
    6) the biking – just felt like a bit of an extended ‘red bull’ type thing really

Very interesting Peri as the order for my favourites match your order!

All in all they were inspiring and some great filing techniques – it was a great night and great seeing everyone xx

Excellent Peri – so good to have your thoughts. Interestingly I’d pretty much concur – just very difficult to choose between the top four, but yes I think the Skiing tops it – I loved the bit when we first saw the skiing (down the cliff as you say…) and the music clicked in.
And it was brilliant when Mira, the Nepali girl, discovered that trail/hill running was her ‘thing’ – like she had been trying to fit in with something (road) that wasn’t quite her.
I also found the Totem Pole story touching, and mind-blowing as a climb (especially with those waves crashing against the pole – ahh!).
Such good and inspiring viewing. Hopefully it will come to York again next year.

and so great that she was just a girl from a very ordinary background – she hadnt had any special privileges or opportunities, she wasnt hothoused in a sporty family from an early age. inspiring. and she was so obviously loving it all the time 🙂
