Good Evening All,
Following the busy winter weekends it is time for more mountain adventure. I’m planning a trip to the Stubai Alps in Tirol Austria, having recce’ last summer. The trip dates will be in August for six days from 20-27th over the bank holiday weekend. Flights will need booking from Manchester to Munich, departing on say Wed. We will take a shuttle bus to Innsbruck and stay night-1 in a Hostel before embarking on the Stubaier bus to Neustift to start a trek on the high trail, part of the Stubaier Hohenweg (Rucksack route) to the Innsbrucker hutte to stay Night-2. We will take excursions from this hut, a hike up Habicht one of Austia’s most prominent peaks, or rock climbing, a plan TBC, returning to the same hut for Night-3. We will then embark back on to the trail for the second hut The Bremer Hutte, to stay Night-4. From here we will take climbing excursions through the day, returning to the same for Night-5. And finally a return hike to the Stubai valley to catch the bus back to Innsburuck to the hostel, Night-6. Transfer bus back to Munich for flights home on the Tuesday. This trip will be for 6 people and there are 4 definite maybes, but we need to commit to the dates with money upfront to allow concrete plans to be made. I’ve attached a few links to websites for information to wet whistles.https://www.stubai.at/en/stubai-high-trail/the-huts/bremer-hut/

Typical cost
Flight: £250-£350
Hostel: £55/N
Hutte: £35/N Half Board
Apple Strudel: £…Innsbruck is an iconic city having hosted the Winter Olympics, it has the iconic Nordkette mountains which back drop the city, which we’ll make time to catch the funicular to the top for a final Strudel, to look back over our trial on the Stubai before returning home.
I will post further details in due course, in the mean time, those with firm interest can you please get in touch directly.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
EwartApril 19, 2024 at 6:04 pm #18495Ewart PritchardSpectatorGood afternoon all,
To allow planning of this trip to progress, I will call a meeting to discuss particulars over the next week or two, taking advantage perhaps of the Tue or Thur evening club meets, or weekend climbing day. I will message those that have expressed interest by DM to arrange, then will notify here of the time for anyone else that has interest to join the trip.
Both the Innsbruker and Bremer huts reservations have been confirmed. Flights and other accommodation needs to be booked by May I would say.
Regards

Do you have dates in mind yet?
I know there was talk of either late July or even early September but could do with something firmed up my end
