30 April 2021
Having not been in the mountains for over a year,it was decided that as soon as the border reopened I was to head North.
After notifying Storm of my intended plans we jumped in the van and headed up the M74.

We eventually arrived at the Victoria Bridge car park and set up camp.

We had arranged to meet up with Angela and our intended hills were
Stob A Choire Odhair 945m (peak of the dun- coloured corrie) and Stob Ghabhar 1090m (peak of goats) 16km distance and 1239m of ascent.
After a fairly easy walk in we eventually found a well engineered stalkers path which took us high up to the stony summit.

Storm and I then headed west to a bealach before rising steeply for 500m to the crest of a narrow ridge ( Aonach Eagach ) not quite as airy as its namesake in Glencoe.

A final pull up the east face of Stob Ghabhar to reach the summit.

Quickly retreating i found a more pleasant place for 2nd lunch.

Sunday morning found us several km west of Dalmally to a small car park opposite the power station .The hills for today were Ben Cruachan 1126m (heaped Hill) and Stob Diamh 998m (peak of the stag ) 14km distance and 1376m ascent.

Upon reaching the final summit of the day ,easy grassy slopes lead back down to the car.
A thoroughly enjoyable weekend and great to be back doing what we love so much, more to come !
