PINNACLE RIDGE 22nd November
The big smooth slab below the 'finger" offered few possibilities for traction under its light covering of snow. At this point Various Stratagems were implemented to maintain upward progress, and indeed the rope came out.
This very familiar summer scramble/mod (maybe 20 ascents in my case) seemed to have got steeper with its pretty white dress on, and the soft snow cover made footholds often seem a little precarious. Perhaps it would be an easier climb with a harder covering.
Anyway our solution was to grab hold of the white-dressed rocks pretty strongly, and on a day of perfect clear calm weather we took our time and pitched all of the upper parts. And enjoyed it thoroughly too !
