The Mountain First Aid course over 2 days was very well anchored in outdoor mountaineering and rock climbing contexts.

Our Instructor Matt Hutson (Mountainsandmoors Ltd) used his wide experience in expeditions, mountaineering and outdoor leadership to provide actual examples of things that happened and how to deal with them.

So we don't look like dummies in an emergency.

With emergency response times of several hours in some UK mountain areas, and still possibly 45 minutes at a local crag, some up-to-date idea of what to do could be hugely significant.
At least if someone got hurt we could lend a hand.

And the 11 of us came away with our 3-year REC Level 2 Certificates.
