Glentress Forest - September 2005
At last a return trip to Glentress Forest in the Tweed Valley. Our
mission, to run the Blue, Red and Black routes!
The gang was Richard, Robin, Helen, Jessica and myself. The plan was to
do the Blue Buzzards nest route, Saturday morning lunch at the hub,
then the Glentress red route in the afternoon, in all approximately 20
miles.
Sunday to do the Helly Hanson V trail (black route) also about 20 miles.

We all got off to a storming start and blitzed the blue route before
lunch.
After BLT's and carrot cake we all set off on the red route!
The guide says:
¨Offering a fun challenge! The red route is a real favorite with
every one who rides it. The route has been substantially upgraded in
parts making it eave better than before. It remains the bench mark for
red grade trails boasting some of the most beautiful single track,
massive fast descents and Glentress's signature..... burms!¨

^^Robin practicing his
unicycling^^
If possible...... the red route is better than described!
All had a great day.
Saturday night we hit Melrose, which offered an excellent selection of
pubs and places to eat.
Our base was the excellent Melrose SYHA
